Thanks to modern technologies and plenty of patterns and styles, there are many moulding products to choose from and one will fit your budget. Hardwood mouldings which are stained or naturally finished usually come with a pretty hefty price tag. Paint-grade pine or fir mouldings are much less expensive because they are made from short pieces of wood that have been joined together. For the best of both worlds, consider new ready-to-paint mouldings made from high-density polymers. These are attractive -- and fraction of the cost of the real thing.
