  • Move It For Your Health
St. John's Regional Medical Center and Southwest Missouri Bank, in partnership with fourstateshomepage.com, KSN and KODE, plan to take on the childhood obesity problem in our own community.  With the "Move It For Your Health" campaign, our goal is to improve local grade school children's lives by encouraging them to be more active and eat healthier.  We want to help our citizens make more informed choices when it comes to their health and inspire the region to make more time for regular physical activity.

    National Facts

    • Obesity is a national epidemic.  64% of Americans are overweight and childhood obesity has doubled in the last 20 years.
    • This could be the first generation of American children to lead shorter lives than their parents.
    • Considering obesity, 20 years of aging, smoking, problem drinking, and the risk or acquiring diabetes, obesity has the most powerful and costly effects on health.

We hope that by involving children, parents, and teachers, we can bring a positive focus to this ever growing problem and bring about a change in these National Facts.
