Reported by: Brian Richardson Saturday, May 10, 2008 @11:39pm CDT The National Weather Service started tracking a confirmed tornado six miles west of Baxter Springs around five thirty this afternoon, tracking due east. KODE recorded video of the storm just south of Interstate 44 on highway 43 at around 5:50 this afternoon. Pea to dime size hail was already falling on the ground. Baseball size hail cracked our windshield and left deep divots in the roof and hood of our news vehicle. Our crew took cover in the backseat as the storm passed. |
