Aaron Graham is one of three men accused in the murder of Jamey Richardson in January 2007. Prosecutors agreed to let Graham plead guilty to the highest of 12 charges, the charge for first degree felony murder. In exchange, they dropped the remaining 11 charges, including kidnapping and aggravated battery. All the charges stem from a year and a half ago when graham and 2 others shot and killed Jamey Richardson. The other 2 co-defendants in the case were Edward Gordon and Samuel Becker. Gordon pled no contest to his role in He agreed to testify against the other 2 and will serve 10 years in prison. Prosecuting Attorney for the state says Graham saw what happened to Becker, who chose to go to trial. Becker was found guilty of all 12 charges. Life in prison with the possibility of parole is the only possible sentence for first degree murder in the state of A sentencing hearing will be held on September 23rd. The prosecuting attorneys thanked the Baxter Springs Police Department and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation for their hard work. They say it made the successful prosecution of the 3 co-defendants much easier. |
