The city of Miami Oklahoma is putting a three phase plan into action to cut down on solid waste. Phase one began in April. It allows residents to bring their yard waste in for recycling. City leaders say the next step is to open a recycling facility for plastic, aluminum, and paper goods. The city is in discussion with the Modoc tribe. The tribe runs the Red Cedar Recycling Center. The plans provide for the tribe to run the facility and the city would provide the building. |
