Reported by: Toni Valliere Monday, Nov 24, 2008 @09:36pm CST In April, we introduced you to Amanda and Joey Bogle and their newborn triplets.
At that time, all three babies were in the hospital battling several different health issues after being born at just 24 weeks. Tonight in our family first segment, we catch up with the Bogle family and show you just how far the triplets have come in the past 7 months. It's been 7 months since we introduced you to the Bogle family of neosho....and since then, a lot has changed. "It was a very critical time. At the time you saw me, it was my very first time leaving the babies, which was very very hard." "state of mind then was pretty much still shock and confusion...If you compare it to today, it's utter confusion, but the shock is gone." That's because the shock has been replaced by amazement. Joey and Amanda Bogle are the proud parents of Tessa, Toby and Sarah. The three were naturally conceived, but being born at just 24 weeks, they each faced several challenges. "All 3 had problems where they had to have a pda glidation...Clamp on their hearts. All three had it and came thru with flying colors." But it didn't happen over night. All three spent their first four months of life in the nicu at a Kansas City Hospital. The triplets are now ten months old and doing better than Joey and Amanda could ever have imagined. "Compared to what they were..all three are doing excellent. I don't think any of them will be 100 yard dashers, but they're not gonna have any problems getting up and doing what they need to do." And right now that involves keeping mom and dad very busy. "It's very hectic, i forget to eat myself, like did i take a shower today..because they keep you busy..."busy chasing them, putting them back on blankets they're rolling over, trying to crawl and it's amazing knowing where they were and look at em now on all 4's drooling." But even as exhausting as it can be with regular feedings, diaper changes, phone calls in between, baths and more diaper changes, joey and amanda say they have it pretty easy. "I think god really blessed us because our babies for the most part are very happy and i think that's god's way of saying you went through a hard time, now you get to relax a little bit..even though i don't ...We get nice babies." And Amanda has some advice for parents of multiples...Be patient and accept any help that you are offered...."before you pull your hair out."
