Reported by: Jessica Daley Monday, Mar 9, 2009 @06:07pm CDT Pittsburg State University is reaching out to local businesses for help.
PSU's 24th annual Community Campaign kicks off Tuesday.
The campaign recognizes businesses that have partnered with the university.
It runs for the next two weeks, but donations are accepted throughout the year.
Organizers with PSU say the money is put to good use around campus for many different needs.
They also say partnering with local businesses is good for both groups. "I think people in the community realize the significance the university plays in the community and businesses help the university," said PSU Director of Annual Giving Holly Kent. "They support us by providing internships and give students jobs." Organizers say they try to correspond with 1,000 businesses in Crawford County and about one third of them support the university. |
