Reported by: Jessica Daley Wednesday, May 13, 2009 @06:17pm CDT Clean up is a big undertaking for the Carthage Golf Course.
Golfers were on the links playing around 35 downed trees.
Some of those trees are more than 100 years old.
The city of Carthage has given the golf course about $3500 to help pay for clean up.
The trees are older than the golf course, but some say it's not all bad. "They're nostalgic, but they're dangerous if a limb or branch was loose it could fall on somebody," says lifetime golfer David Hall. The golf course was only closed friday. Officials say clean up will take quite some time before the course is back in top condition. |
