Reported by: Brad Douglas Thursday, Jul 19, 2007 @06:05pm CDT The students may be on summer break, but the work is continuing on three Joplin elementary schools.
McKinley, Stapleton and East Moreland schools are all removing classroom trailers.
The seven million dollar project is well underway.
At McKinley the expansion will create nine additional classrooms.
Assistant Superintendent Doug Domer says the project has been in the making for many years.
The cost is not being paid for by the recent school bond tax, but from the schools cash reserve.
Domer says the growth in the school district is something that is not on the decline.
The three schools are expected to completed by the fall of 2008.
