Reported by: Dustin Lattimer Monday, Jul 13, 2009 @03:47pm CDT Sometimes it may seem like there's only two seasons, winter and construction. But during these road work months, the Missouri Department of Transportation wants to help you avoid traffic and road closures.
By clicking HERE you can see which roads are closed, under construction or affected by traffic accidents. Road work is updated at the end of each week while accidents are posted immediately. If you have internet access on your mobile phone, you can even see a text version of MODOT's traveler information map. "It's just, it's great because so many people, for example, they may be going to the doctor and they only allow twenty minutes to get there and you know, this way at least they'll know to maybe plan an extra thirty minutes just in case or just to even find out if there's an accident that just recently happened and maybe it's not on the radio or the news yet," says MODOT's Community Relations Specialist, Wendy Brunner-Lewis.
