Reported by: Bonney Bowman Thursday, Aug 6, 2009 @06:16pm CDT It's a chance to save a life... at Marion Days.
Ahn Reiss was recently diagnosed with a bone marrow illness which could take her life in 4 years.
She needs a bone marrow donor, but no one registered is a match.
So reiss started "Team Ahn", an effort to register more Vietnamese for the National Marrow Registry.
People are more likely to find matches within their race.
Reiss says she's not the only Vietnamese resident waiting for a match.
She says the effort is in keeping with the spirit of Marion Days.
The registry drive will continue through the end of Marion Days on Sunday.
