Pittsburg schools is meeting with the school board tonight..
On the agenda is cutting six assessment tests from the school year.
Administrators say the test are no longer needed for a coupe reasons, either they were attached to federal grants that the school did not receive this year, or other tests cover the same subjects.
"With a lot of students, we know some students are not good test takers," said Assistant Superintendent Cory Gibson. "They become stressed out for the assessment and don't like the change in routine. This will make school a more comfortable and enjoyable place to go." There are hopes the new technology at the high school will also make learning more enjoyable for students. A $45,000 Rural and Low Income grant will help install more smart-boards and other new technology. |
