Sunday, Oct 11, 2009 @10:52pm CDT It was a year ago on October 11, 2008 that Bob and Ellen Sheldon were brutally murdered in their rural Carthage home.
Family and friends celebrate their lives today as they unveil a memorial at the Sheldon's store the Old Cabin Shop.
Local residents stopped by to exchange stories about the couple.
Their four children were on hand to keep their parents' memories alive.
But the memorial won't bring back what the Sheldon siblings call "the heart and soul of the shop"... their parents.
"I'm not very good with words, I really miss them," said Bob Sheldon, Jr. "I wish they were still here. I wish I would have known now, what I knew before they were killed. You never know what you're missing until after it's gone. " The siblings have kept the Old Cabin Shop running the same way their parents did for 28 years. |
