  • Paper Pals Program Growing
    Reported by: Gretchen Bolander

    Friday, Nov 6, 2009 @11:57am CST

A project to help students go green is expanding. The Paper Pals program is adding the Neosho school system to its list. That means a total of 66 paper recycling bin are now out at area schools... giving kids a chance to learn about recycling and help their schools earn a little cash for the materials collected.

Patty Overman with Service Recycling is in charge of the program. She says it's good both for kids and the community, "It's all mixed paper. You can put in anything from a paper towel to a phone book, newspapers, any school and office papers. And the bins are labeled too, so you can see what you can and cannot put in them."

The Paper Pal bins are located at schools in Joplin, Webb City, Carl Junction, Carthage, Seneca, Columbus and - of course - Neosho.
