Lykins.  With visions of becoming a cattle rancher within the broad expanse of the tall prairie, Lykins was determined to buy a piece of the prime grazing land.  Traveling to Washington D.C., Lykins was granted the opportunity to buy the acreage for the new town by the Secretary of the Interior on the behalf of the Ottawa Tribe of Indians.     For the sixth consecutive year, the NGA Hooters Pro Golf Tour will make a stop at Peoria Ridge Golf Course in Miami, Oklahoma for the Buffalo Run Casino Classic. During four days of competition, 168 golf professionals will compete for a total prize purse of $200,000. This is the 3rd largest men's 72-hole professional golf tour in the country behind the PGA and Nationwide Tours. NGA Hooters Tour alumni include winners of ten major PGA Tour events such as Shaun Micheel, Jim Furyk, John Daly, Lee Janzen, Tom Lehman, David Toms, Ben Curtis, Chad Campbell and Zach Johnson.     The Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma shares its heritage and culture at its Eleventh Annual Pow-wow. Schedule of Events begins with Friday night Gourd Dance at 6:30 p.m. followed by Grand Entry at 8 p.m. Gourd Dancing is scheduled Saturday at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Grand Entry will follow at 7 p.m. Sunday activities begin with Gourd Dancing at 1 p.m. and Grand Entry at 3 p.m. Contests will be held for all ages throughout the weekend. All prizes will be awarded on Sunday afternoon. Stomp Dances will be held each night. Native American arts and crafts vendors will be on site. Free Admission. Food concessions available.
