It's the start of a new chapter in the lives of Michael Reed and his family. They lost their home and all their belongings on May 22nd, but now they have a new home.
"We are going to never take this for granted," states Reed.
For the Reed family, it's more than just a permanent place to live, it's a place where new memories will be created.
"This is a place where Gabby is going to grow up and go to school and have sleep overs and you can't say thank you enough for that," says Reed.
The house was a gift, given by the Church of Nazarene.
"That's who we are. The Church of Nazarene, we love investing in the lives of people," states Jim Dillow, Church of Nazarene Director.
Today, they showed that investment by giving 3 families 3 homes, each valued at $70,000. As they took a tour of their new home, the Reeds looked back to the moment when they found out they'd been chosen for a brand new home.
"You're immediately filled with every emotion you could possibly have at once, at the same time. Me and my wife holding each other and crying and thanking God," says Reed.
The homes come at no cost to the owners. They were all funded by a $220,000 grant from the Church of Nazarene headquarters in Lenexa, Kansas.
