CARTHAGE, MO.---You wont' find any store bought ornaments on ED Grundy's Christmas tree. For 3 decades he's been making Christmas ornaments for friends and family.

"You know I've got all my fingers after 30 years," states Ed Grundy.

He just one of the many artists on display at this weekends Art Walk in Carthage. He will be set up inside this paint shop and dozens of his ornaments will be on display. He's made angels, nativity scenes, and even candle holders. He's all about going green, because much of his wood was thrown away.

"Just trash and try to turn it into something I like. A piece of wood to say something. I can't paint or write but I like a piece of wood to say something," states Grundy.

This has been a hobby for years, but he made his living refinishing furniture.

"Christmas ornaments are a whole lot of fun. Refinishing furniture is a whole lot of work," states Grundy.

He's not just a one man band, his lovely bride adds the paint.

"42 years to the same woman," states Grundy.

He says it's important to inspire the next generation of woodworkers.

"The quickest way is to get them to try to make something like a baseball bat or something they can relate to," states Grundy.

He will be giving away all these model cars to all the kids on the Art Walk.

"The little cars they can take them and paint them or something useful they want to make them," states Grundy.
