Joplin Mayor to Receive Award

JOPLIN ---The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. State Commission has selected Mayor Colbert for the commission's 20-13 leadership award.

The award recognizes her achievements and continuing efforts of exemplifying Dr. King's ideals and commitments.

The mayor will receive the award at Harris-Stowe State University tomorrow night at 6:30 p.m.

The commission honoring the mayor, chooses activities for the celebration of Martin Luther King Day in Missouri.
