JOPLIN, MO--- The Missouri Southern State University "Mock Trial Team" competed in the Mid-Missouri Invitational hosted by the University of Missouri and Columbia College over the weekend in Columbia, Mo. The students competed against 20 universities from Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, and Missouri. The event served for teams to practice skills for regionals, taking place in Kansas City in February. This year's case was a civil wrongful death case that involved a death during a scuba diving expedition.
The MSSU team brought home multiple awards. Four Missouri Southern students were named "Outstanding" in competition.
Mary Duncan, Jessica Andrews, and Tristan Routledge, all won for Outstanding Witness. Johnathan Saunders won for Outstanding Attorney.
