GOLDEN CITY, MO.--- "Cookie's Cafe" is known across the country for their pie. National Pie Day started in 1986, and the only way to celebrate is to have a slice. "Cookie's Cafe" has more than 20 different varieties and they sell more than 50 pies on the weekend. Many had no idea today was a holiday, but it didn't stop them from eating a piece.

"I'd say most people don't know about National Pie Day. It's good to hear it's being recognized. It's a staple for desert," said Greg Eldted, Cookies Cafe Owner.

"Cookies Cafe" ships pies across the world. The shipping always costs more than the pie but customers say it is well worth it.
