JOPLIN, MO.--- The "Southern Annual Fund" organization and 25 Missouri Southern State University students are teaming up in a phone-a-thon now through February 27th.

The money raised will go towards scholarships, facility improvements and other general operations. Organizers say it's a great way for students to get involved on campus while connecting with alumni.

"They get some work experience and they get a chance to do something that's really fun. A lot of them talk about how they like to hear the stories of former students and alumni and those kinds of things. They really enjoy that, so it's a nice way to connect," says Michael Fontana, Development Officer.

The goal for the phone-a-thon is $82,500.
