Madge T James Kindergarten Reader Volunteer Needs

By: Brad Douglas
Updated: March 15, 2013
WEBB CITY, MO.--- Dozens of elementary school students need your help to read. Students at the Madge T. James Kindergarten in Webb City are asking for adult readers to sign up. The volunteers would read to the students for an hour.

There are 2 shifts available. One shift from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and the second from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. They will also help students take a reading comprehension test to show improvement.

"It builds their confidence. The more practice in any sport or anything you try to do, the more practice you have the better reader that you'll be. We're hopeful that the time spent with volunteers will be very beneficial for both," said Amanda Green, Principal.

If you would like to sign up, you can call the school at 417-673-6075.
