NEVADA, MO--- Fire crews were called to the office on Prewitt Road, in Nevada, at 4:14am. Nevada Fire Chief William Thornton says crews spent hours getting the blaze under control. He believe the damage to the building is severe. "The west edge of the building is the most damaged area, says Thornton. "There was heat and smoke damage throughout the rest of the building."

Investigators are now looking for clues, and reviewing video taken from the building security camera, to try and figure out how the blaze started. Thornton says representatives from the F.B.I and other government agencies are in town to help. "We have the Missouri State Fire Marshall Office, and the A.T.F is here as well."

Officials with the Nevada Probation and Parole office say case workers are still on the job, and anyone who is required to check in must continue to do so.

Until a temporary office is set up, officials are asking anyone who needs to contact the office to call (417) 448-1250. The calls will be transferred to the office in Butler.
