PITTSBURG, KS.--- This is the first time Amy Irish has been to the Southeast Kansas Recycling Center's semi annual book sale.
"I notice they often have the signs on the outside, and that's what caught our attention," states Amy Irish.
So far, she likes what she's found.
"One thing I'm amazed by is how many copies of books that are classics there are," states Irish.
Recycling Center Treasurer, Gene Vogler says the book sale isn't just about finding a good read, it's about taking care of the planet.
"I call it the great circle of life. We try to get the circle complete, and try to conserve our resources, conserve the space in our landfills," states Gene Vogler, Recycling Center Treasurer.
The books come in throughout the year.
"We take books from anybody," states Vogler.
Most are in good condition.
"There were so many good books that we saw that we felt like we really needed to try to get them back into the community," states Vogler.
They are priced to fit any budget.
"Our biggest one costs 50 cents," states Vogler.
Even though this is the first time she's been here, Irish says she'll she'll definitely be back.
"Oh, yes, definitely," states Irish.
The book sale continues tomorrow at the Recycling Center. They're located at 615 South Joplin Street in Pittsburg. The sale will run from 9 am to 5 pm. They're next sale is scheduled for earth day next Spring.
