Deadly Accident

NEVADA -- Landree Heese, 7, of Carthage, was killed when the vehicle she was riding in hit an ice patch on I-49 around 7AM Saturday. Missouri Highway Patrol troopers say the truck slid off the roadway and overturned just south of Nevada. Her father, Andrew Heese, 33, and sister Avery Heese, 10, were injured in the accident and taken to Freeman Health System for treatment. Daniel Castor, 33, and his son Kp were also taken to the hospital. Community members say Landree was a student at Avilla Elementary School, and the group was on the way to Kansas City when the accident happened.
