JOPLIN, MO.--- The local chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisers or NAIFA joined more than 50 students at the Cerebral Palsy Center for a Christmas party.
"From the smiles and the cookie messes on their faces and, we had one fall asleep but they had a great time and it's nice to see the adults interacting with the children and all the crazy hats every year," states Linda Teeter, Vice President of NAIFA.
NAIFA members have visited the center for more than 25 years to help with this event, and every time they bring along a crowd favorite. After all the kids had a chance to visit with Santa, CP Center Director Christy Graham got her Christmas wish as well.
"We gave the most we have ever been able to do in one check to one organization, we did $5,000 today," states Christy Graham, Executive Director.
An amount Director Christy Ghram says will have a lasting impact on the center's budget.
"We appreciate any kindness and goodness and gracious that anyone does for us but it keeps out buses rolling, it keeps our electricity on, it helps us pay for therapies that there's no other funding source for," states Christy Graham, Executive Director.
"This center doesn't get a lot of federal and state funding so private donations are significant for the life of this organization for them to have one," states Teeter.
NAIFA was able to make this donation with proceeds from their annual summer golf tournament. NAIFA accepts donations year round to help community organizations. If you would like to donate, click here.
