NEOSHO, MO.--- U.S Marshals call it, Operation Turnpike TNT, which they first started investigating two years ago, when the ring began shipping drugs and money along the interstate and across several state lines.
Drug agents followed the distribution ring from Arizona, into Oklahoma, ending at the Newton County home of Gregory Holcomb, 51, and Malinda Willis, 47, both of Neosho.
U.S Marshal Darren Lane says, "Essentially, the organization would load cars full of methamphetamine in hidden compartments and they would transport that up through the corridor there, through Oklahoma, and up to the Holcomb residence near Neosho Missouri."
Agents say the ring sold the drugs in Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas.
Among the search of the Holcomb's home, agents found 200 grams of methamphetamine and 20 guns, many reported stolen. Early in 2012 Holcomb and Willis were indicted by a federal grand jury, along with seven others.
"Shortly after their indictment and subsequent arrest, they were released on federal bond here," says Lane.
All seven other defendants in this case have now reached plea agreements with prosecutors, but Holcomb and Willis have not.
"...Mr. Holcomb and Miss Willis decided to excuse themselves from the judicial process and they failed to appear for one of their court appearances," says Lane.
