JOPLIN -- The drummer for the country music band Rascal Flatts, Jim Riley, spent Saturday afternoon sharing tips and tricks with students at Missouri Southern State University. After performing for thousands of people at sold out shows across the United States, he holds free clinics to help the next generation of rhythm makers. Riley says he hopes more parents introduce their children to the world of music.
"There's always opportunities to play music and they will never regret having their children study something they will be able to do as long as they're around."
After the class, Riley rushed to Springfield to rejoin Rascal Flatts at a concert in Springfield Saturday night.
