CARTHAGE, MO.--- McDonald's franchise owners Joe and Patty Coss gifted a 15-foot long mural to the Jasper County Courthouse. The mural was painted in 2005 and depicts images of historic landmarks throughout the city.

Owners removed the mural from the inside of their west central location in preparation for a company mandated rebuild that will begin later this month. The owners say they are happy the courthouse will display this item that has become a favorite among visitors.

"We just didn't want it to go to waste and to be rolled up and put in a closet for keeping. For our end, we thought, why not donate it to the county courthouse and continue to get some good viewing out of it," said Joe Coss, Owner, Carthage McDonald's.

County commissioners say the mural will be hung on the south wall of the west foyer inside the Jasper County Courthouse in the coming weeks.
