GALENA -- Author Michael Wallis published a book showing the history of the Mother Road. Saturday, he made a stop in Galena to sign a few copies of the book for fans at the Streetcar Station Coffee Shop on Main Street. Wallis also used his talents as the voice of the sheriff in the Pixar movie "Cars." He says Route 66 has always been a big part of his life.
"I'm always home on Route 66, basically for me Route 66 is a 2,00 mile long linear village."
Wallis and his nonprofit organization, The Route 66 Alliance, will be partnering with joplin to put on a Route 66 festival in August.
