NEOSHO, MO.--- A proposed rate increase could mean a slight change for students at Crowder College. At a recent meeting, the school's board of trustees discussed increasing tuition by $1 per credit hour, which would raise the current rate to $78 per credit hour.

For students living outside of Neosho, McDonald County, Seneca, East Newton or Diamond, tuition rates would increase by $2, bringing their rate to $107 per credit hour. Board members also discussed the possibility of increasing dorm rates from $766 to $1,100 per semester, for a double-occupancy dorm room.

Crowder College representatives say the increases were proposed because their enrollment is growing so rapidly that revenue has not increased to keep up with infrastructure needs. If approved at the April board meeting, these changes would take effect in the upcoming fall semester.
