Celebrate an evening of luxurious chocolate and tasty appetizers by attending the Freeman Southwest Family YMCA A Chocolate A’Fair event on Thursday, October 11 at the Elsie Plaster Center on the Crowder College Campus. This annual event raises money for the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign that provides YMCA membership and program financial assistance to financially challenged children and families and in our community.

The four major food groups will be celebrated at the Y’s A Chocolate A’Fair…Milk Chocolate, White Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, and Chocolate Covered Everything. The semi-formal A Chocolate A’Fair evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Elsie Plaster Center. Ticket holders will have the opportunity to sample chocolate creations from the area’s finest chefs, restaurants, and caterers. Musical entertainment will be provided by Bob Ensor. The evening will also include roses for the ladies, sponsored by local florists, and an opportunity to win gift certificates provided by each of the participating vendors. A silent auction of decadent chocolate baskets will take place throughout the evening. Auctioneer Bob Lasswell will close the evening with an auction of family sized portions of all the chocolate desserts and candies as well as a special surprise. All proceeds benefit the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.

Tickets for A Chocolate A’Fair are $25 per person in advance and $30 at the door. Advance tickets are available at Community Bank & Trust and the Freeman Southwest Family YMCA in Neosho. For more information or to order tickets call 455-9999. Delivery service is available.

The YMCA Strong Kids Campaign raises funds to provide Y services to area families and children who may not be able to afford memberships or program fees. The YMCA strives to provide programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body to all members of the community, regardless of financial ability to pay for these services. The 2007 Campaign Goal is $90,000.
