CARTHAGE - The Jasper County Public Administrators Office is collecting money to buy playground equipment for Avilla Elementary School.

The equipment will be purchased in honor of 7-year-old Landree Heese, of Carthage, who was killed in a car accident last Saturday morning.

Heese's mom works at the public administrators office and suggested the funds go towards this cause because her daughter loved to play and read.County workers are collecting funds and looking at the costs associated with getting a special piece of equipment to honor Landree.

"A swing set with two swings on it for the school. And then the two swings, one will represent Landree and the other will represent a friend so we thought that was a very good appropriate idea for the school," explains Angie Casavecchia, Jasper County Public Administrator.

If you would like to donate to this fund contact the Jasper County Public Administrators Office at (417)358-4268
