Do you have a young naturalist at home? Help cultivate that interest in nature by having them attend our outdoor summer camp! Led by professional naturalists with over 8 years of day camp experience, we will meet at the Center each morning before we head outdoors to explore various habitats including glades, woodlands, streams, and even a cave, and learn about the plants and animals that live there. A child to adult ratio of at least 10:1 ensures a safe and educational experience for all. Children should be in good physical condition and able to hike 3 miles in summer weather. We will provide a snack, or they may bring their own from home. For the convenience of working parents, we will provide supervision from 7:30 am.-12:00 pm. Late fees will be charged at the rate of $1/minute after 12:00.

Field sketches are simple but identifiable drawings executed out of doors from direct observation of nature. Observe and document wildflowers, native grasses and wildlife of this unique Ozark landscape with other beginners in a ramble of Wildcat Glades trails. Since drawing will be used as a tool for observation, no previous art training expected. Along the way, guest instructor and international naturalist artist Cynthia Padilla instructs and demonstrates techniques. A knowledgeable local guide accompanies us. Emerge with a sketchbook journal of careful studies, quick scribbles, convincing renderings, notes & notations, measurements, musings and confidence to continue this beloved tradition on your own.
