IT'S SOUND ADVICE.... INSTALL A SMOKE DETECTOR. THEY CAN AND DO SAVE LIVES.  THE NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION RECOMMENDS TESTING YOUR SMOKE DETECTOR AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH.  CHANGE THE BATTERIES A MINIMUM OF ONCE A YEAR, OR WHEN THE TIME CHANGES.  AND FIREFIGHTERS SAY IT'S A GOOD IDEA TO DEVELOP A PLAN IN CASE THOSE ALARMS GO OFF.  WHILE FIREFIGHTERS ARE IN SCHOOLS REGULARLY TO TALK TO KIDS ABOUT FIRE SAFETY.... THEY SAY PARENTS PLAY A BIG ROLE IN KEEPING THAT EDUCATION GOING.  OF COURSE, FOR MORE INFORMATION ON KEEPING YOUR KIDS SAFE, YOU CAN ALWAYS LOG ON TO SAFE KIDS DOT ORG
