JOPLIN, MO--

Workers at the Joplin Animal Adoption and Resource Center say you don't have to adopt a pet to help them out.

The shelter is always in need of volunteers doing a wide range of jobs.

Shelter workers say the work may be hard, but it can be very rewarding.

Along with volunteers, the shelter is also in need of donations like paper towels, puppy and kitten food and cash.

Donations can be dropped off at the shelter during business hours Tuesday through Sunday.
