LAMAR, MO.--- The Lamar free fair will transform the city's downtown square into a large festival. You and your family can enjoy exhibits, rides, games, and entertainment. Admission is free, but there is a cost for rides. The free entrance will allow you to make more room for all of the corndogs, funnel cakes, popcorn, pizza, and ice cream available for purchase. The week draws crowds form all around the area.

"It's people everywhere. It takes over the town pretty much. If you say Lamar Fair or if you say August people kind of equate the 2," states Nancy Curless, Barton County Chamber of Commerce.

The free fair starts on August 18th. The carnival is open Wednesday through Friday at 6 p.m. Saturday at noon. The fair ends Saturday, August 25th.
