JOPLIN, MO -- A ribbon cutting celebrates a new name for a longtime Joplin bank.

Pinnacle Bank at 8th and Main hosted the ceremony this morning.

The business took over First State Bank last year.

Despite the change, Pinnacle Bank kept all of the previous staff members and management.

Pinnacle Bank's president says that has always been a top priority for his business.

"That is the community banking model Pinnacle Bank adopts and embraces, to be able to have that local management team to be able to make those local decisions," says Pinnacle Bank President John Lopes.

After the ribbon cutting, the chamber of commerce presented the business with an plaque welcoming Pinnacle Bank to the Joplin business community.
