CARTHAGE -- Travis Jones, 36, of Monett, was apprehended around 3AM Saturday at the intersection of Fairview and Grand in Carthage. Jones led police on a short foot chase after he was stopped while walking alongside of Fairview road. Authorities discovered Jones was wanted on felony kidnapping and felonious restraint charges out of Taney county. He was also wanted on felony warrants out of Barry county for possession of a controlled substance. Officers say they are always watching what is happening inside their city limits.

"We stopped to find out what they're doing and to let them know that we're watching them, and to just make sure they are not up to no good," says gt. Roy Eppard of the Carthage Police Department.

Cynthia Crabb, 32, of Monett was also arrested during the incident. She is charged with providing false information to police. Both are currently being held in the Jasper County Jail.
