JOPLIN -- The Joplin Animal Adoption and Resource Center is looking for people who love animals to help with day-to-day activities. Shelter employees are hosting an orientation this week as way for volunteers to be more prepared. There are 20 spaces available and reservations can be made now. Organizers say volunteers are a necessity for the organization.

"There's so many things that we could not do without volunteers," says animal advocate Ananda Snyder. We have people that drive our rescue vans, we don't have time for those things without that. theres so many animals that wouldn't get out every week."

The orientation will be held at the Joplin Animal Adoption and Resource Center next Saturday. It begins at 10AM and lasts an hour and half. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. If you would like to attend the orientation, call (417) 623-3642.
