PARSONS, KS.--- Parsons Police Chief Scott Gofourth is meeting with parents to talk about what can be done about the teen drug and alcohol problem in the community.

Chief Gofourth says police officers can and will work hard to combat the issue. In the end, the most effective resource is a parent's time.

"We really want to make this a community effort, one that can basically have a positive impact on our community. It starts at home with our parents," said Scott Gofourth, Parsons Police Chief.

The meeting begins at 6:30 tonight at the Carnegie Arts Center in Parsons. Experts will be available to answer questions from parents.
