JOPLIN, MO.--- Several stores in Joplin have very little ammunition on hand, and are having a hard time ordering more. Both in Joplin and across the country people are stocking up, leaving stores with few options.

However, despite the lack of ammunition available for local residents, Joplin police say they're not having a problem with the supply.

"We're always trying to stay ahead of the game and anticipate what we're going to need. So, we've not had any issues in the last few years, so we've planned properly and we're prepared," states Chuck Niess, Joplin Police Department.

JPD wants to reassure residents that they have all the ammunition and weapons they need to deal with a wide range of critical incidents.
