JOPLIN -- Discs were flying Saturday at Joplin's McClelland Park for the 4th Annual Ice Bowl Tournament. The event is put together by the Joplin Disc Golf Club, with all proceeds benefiting Souls Harbor. In order to play, 30 disc golfers each paid $20 and brought five canned goods. Organizers say every year more and more people participate in the tournament.

"Disc golf is a growing sport," says Joplin Disc Golf Club spokesperson Michael Cory. "You can see out there at this park, McClelland Park, during the spring and summer the parking lots are always full. There are always people out here one very hole. It's definitely a sport that is taking off."

The Joplin Disc Golf Club hosts a tournament once every month, which are open to the public.
