When Dogs Cry ...

By: Import User
Updated: July 2, 2008
There are those of you, having just read this title, who ridicule the thought, and consider it absurd...but,
Those of you who share my love for dogs know its true!
Those of you who have never seen it, have not looked closely enough, and
Those of you who don’t believe it,...you, my friend, are sadly unaware.

j04019262008-03-21-1206129278.jpgA dogs heart is the biggest part of him.  In it he holds
    All the love,
All the Passion for Life, and
All the devotion he is capable of.
He gives these things freely,
    Without hesitation
    With no strings attached, and
He gives it to anyone,
Without regard to age, size, race or income.
His heart rules all he does.

He will comfort you when no one else can (or will),
He will love you when you are at your most unlovable,
He will stay at your side, even if you are penniless and
Have not a single morsel to feed him.

He will lick the hand that strikes him down,
He will wag his tail for the owner who starves him,
He will desperately chase after the car holding the
the person who just dumped him.

So, with all this to offer, he does not understand why he is alone, and he cries.

He does not cry for anything of this earth,
He does not cry crocodile tears, for he is not capable
          of manipulation.

He cries for a warm lap and a gentle touch,
He cries because he is lonely,
He cries because
    he is not wanted,
    he is not loved,
he is not welcome in anyone’s home.

So, to you who are skeptical...

If you’ll take the time to look deep into the wistful eyes of a dog who has nothing before him except his own unjustified execution,
A dog who has been thrown away, abused, unloved,
A shelter dog whose heart has lept with renewed hope countless times whenever someone walks past his cage door, even though he’s never given a moment’s thought,

Then you will see the tears shed of a truly broken heart.

And, if that does not move you to cry tears of your own, then I must pray for your soul, as I wonder . .
    Where is your emotion?
    Where is your compassion?
    Where is your humanity?

Questions you may very well have to answer someday when you kneel before the throne of God, and he is holding a dog in his lap.
