A Mission on Horseback to Joplin

"We rode here on horse," Tim Tuggle says.

That's right, saddling up, and heading east. It took this couple three months to get to Joplin.

"We're going to contact some people today and see what we can do to help," Tim says.

Tim and Lynn Tuggle felt this journey was something they both needed.

"My husband and I were caught up in the business of making money," Lynn Tuggle.

Selling everything they own, their journey started thirteen months ago.

"God has taught us that if we are just willing to just work physically with our hands, that he'll provide all the rest," Lynn says.

Hoping to help those affected by the May 22nd storm and send a special message.

"I can just tell them there's a lot more out there, than what you're see you've lost in the Joplin," Lynn says.

"The people in Joplin, who have had everything stripped away from them, their just things, when all the things are gone what do you have?" Tim says.

But making a journey where you can only travel fifteen to twenty miles a day is challenging.

To keep these horses healthy and able to travel the long distances that Tim and Lynn do, they have to replace their shoes every two months.

Though a challenge both Tim and Lynn agree is more than more than worth it. They say the horses help them reach people.

"As we come into a town, the horses draw people in," Tim says. "We don't go very far into a town, we didn't go very far into Joplin and we turned around and we just got this group of people gathering up behind us."

"People come to use because they want to pet and feel the spirit of the horse," Lynn says.

A spirit of love and charity that this couple is hoping to spread in Joplin.
