Duquesne Residents Start Walk of Unity

DUQUESNE, MO-- Around 100 people start off the Walk of Unity in Duquesne.
The group gathered at the roundabout a 20th and Duquesne.
Walkers were rallied and led by the city's mayor Denny White.
They met Joplin walkers at Wal-Mart to continue the Walk of Unity.
Residents say it was important for them to participate in the activity to support to both communities.
"We've come a long way in the past year. It's just really nice to come out and see the support we still have after a year," says Duquesne resident Diane Eldridge.
Mayor White said he was pleased with how many Duquesne residents showed up to the event.
