JOPLIN, MO.--- The Joplin Memorial Run Committee makes donations to 3 local charities. The group gave $10,000 to the United Way of Southwest Missouri, Bright Futures of Joplin and Rebuild Joplin. Registration fees and money raised for during this year's memorial run made the gifts possible. Joplin Memorial Run Chair, Audie Dennis says these types of donations will be made every year with revenue from the run.

"Well we want everyone to understand that this event, while it's a running event, a fitness event, is absolutely geared towards giving back to the community," Audie Dennis, Joplin Memorial Run Chair.

Next year's Memorial Run is scheduled for Saturday May 18th.
