CARTHAGE, MO.--- Dan and Darlene have been camping for 43 years.

"When we got married we honeymooned in a pickup camper," states Dan Reese, Camper.

Originally from Indiana. They've been on the road for a week and made a stop here at Coachlight RV South of Carthage.

"When I'm home I'm driving but I mean I'm home every night," states Dan.

While traditionally Thanksgiving isn't spent on wheels like this, the Reeses have spent the past 6 years celebrating Thanksgiving while on the go. Last year, it was a pot luck dinner in Fredericksburg, Texas.

"The camp ground owners they supplied the turkey the gravy the mashed potatoes and everyone brought a dish," states Darlene Reese, Wife.

Dan enjoys spending the holiday on the road.

"Meeting other people this morning I met 2 or 3 other travelers," states Dan.

Even on the road, the Reeses say Thanksgiving is always spent at a place they call home.

"Any place we land we can call home if we want to. It's just a different way of life," states Dan.
It's something they are thankful for every year.

"We give thanks for what we have and we're fortunate we can do this," states Darlene.

They consider other friends that share their love of camping their family. To them, that's more important than the turkey and all the trimmings.

"That's kinda our family anymore and we travel around and see them when we're in the area," states Darlene.

Their next stop is Oklahoma. Their next Thanksgiving is still to be determined.

"There's a lot of the United States that I haven't seen yet that I'd like to see. "So a lot more Thanksgivings on the road?" I hope if all goes well," states Dan.
