Emergency managers and meteorologists with the National Weather Service in Springfield hosted each class to prepare for storm season. N.W.S. forecasters say holding these classes helps them get accurate reports to potentially save lives and properties.
"In my experience, certainly I have experienced bad reports and it can throw the warning process off quite a bit. It can delay us getting warnings out or putting information that is not correct out and we have to kind of go back and correct that," says Andy Foster, N.W.S. Meteorologist.
The next storm spotter class in our area will be for Jasper County at MSSU's Anderson Public Safety Center. That class will be next Tuesday, March 7th at 6:30 p.m.
