(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) Police are investigating two deadly shootings in Kansas City this morning involving a Chiefs player.

The Kansas City Police Department says the player is 25-year-old linebacker, Jovan Belcher.

The first shooting was reported around 8:00 a.m. at a house near 54th Street and Crysler Avenue in Kansas City. Reports say the player drove to the location and shot and killed his girlfriend.

Darin Snap, of the Kansas City Police Department, says Belcher and the victim have had an on and off relationship together, and have a three-month-old daughter.

Belcher then drove to a practice facility located at Arrowhead and shot and killed himself in front of coaches including head coach, Romeo Crennel.

The facility went on lockdown this morning, meaning no person could enter or leave at that time.

Since then, the lockdown has been lifted.

We will update this page as we receive more information.
